Working together with municipalities is one way to create change and have an impact, according to Dimitra Zouni. Working in and with cities, she knows what she’s talking about and strives to create impact by working bottom-up. For instance, Dimitra sets community building strategies to work with communities on a local level and – having adopted the core principles of placemaking – collectively redesigns and reimagines public spaces with people. Her goal is to maximise shared value in terms of environment, culture, economy, health, and wellbeing. Dimitra aims to spread the understanding of placemaking as an approach to create places that are not just functional but also sustainable, resilient, beautiful, and meaningful to the people who live, work, and play there.
