Bas Boorsma

Bas Boorsma is a leading urban innovation and digitalisation specialist and executive with more than 22 years of experience in the urban innovation and smart city space. He currently serves as Founder & Partner to Urban Innovators Global, an international enterprise that serves to expand the innovation capacity of cities by means of education, assessments, talent placement, programme management, and venture building. In addition to his other current roles, Bas is chairman of Urban Futures venture building studio in Italy and also serves as Professor of Practice at the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. Until recently, Bas served as CDO to the City of Rotterdam. In the past, Bas was a regional and global executive leader to Cisco, and he authored the acclaimed book ‘A New Digital Deal’.
