Originally from Denmark, Claus Ruhe Madsen is the first foreign mayor of a large German city. He is most passionate about climate-friendly mobility, new technologies, and the possibilities of digitalisation – all crucial aspects to make cities sustainable. Claus thinks that we must change our mindset to a new consciousness for the resources that we have and be aware of what every citizen can do to support this transition. Since sustainability needs to be seen in the long run, he claims it is important to prepare the world for the next generations and include the future’s needs in today’s plans.
