Cécile Faraud leads the Clean Construction Programme at C40 Cities - the network of mayors of world-leading cities collaborating to deliver urgent climate action and create a future where everyone can thrive. Her team supports cities in driving and demanding a just, resilient, resource-efficient, and decarbonised built environment that ensures everyone enjoys healthy and decent urban lives. A systems thinker, Cécile champions whole life, circular, and inclusive approaches. She collaborates with a range of stakeholders to facilitate dialogues between cities and the built environment sector. Prior to C40, Cécile led the development of the London City-Business Leaders initiative at CDP. This aimed to align the climate ambitions and actions of London and its leading businesses. She shaped and led the Circular City programme for the UK city of Peterborough, authored blogs on the Circular Economy, and, when based at the French Embassy in Bangkok, conducted French and South-East Asian collaboration for sustainable development in cross-cutting regional issues. Cécile holds master’s degrees in Environment and Sustainable Development and International Relations and Geography.
