Ana Džokić
Management Board Member at MOBA Housing SCE | The Netherlands
Ana Džokić is an architect with more than two decades of experience and a remarkable track record in pioneering unconventional approaches to address contemporary urban development challenges. She is a co-founder of STEALTH.unlimited, an internationally active spatial practice, based in Belgrade and Rotterdam, bridging the realms of future fiction, spatial intervention, and the politics of possibility. Ana's dedication to reshaping housing conditions is evident through her involvement in two long-term, community-based engagements. First, she co-founded Ko Gradi Grad, an initiative promoting non-speculative housing cooperatives in Belgrade. Then came Stad in de Maak, managing "toxic assets" of stranded Dutch welfare housing to foster inclusive and affordable solutions. An integral part of Ana's journey has been establishing Pametnija Zgrada, the first housing cooperative to arise in Belgrade in the last 20 years. At Urban Future, Ana will focus on MOBA Housing SCE, where she serves on the management board. This is a forward-thinking umbrella organisation breaking ground with a sustainable and replicable model for new cooperative housing in Central and South Eastern Europe (CSEE). It was established by pioneering community-led and cooperative housing initiatives across Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Serbia, and Slovenia to innovate new solutions to address the region’s lack of traditional financing or support from public actors. Ana will speak of how the MOBA Accelerator plays a significant role in offering short-term bridge loans to support member projects during the initial launch phase. Ana is also a founding member of the energy cooperative Elektropionir, which drives small-scale solar initiatives. And, demonstrating her commitment to transforming the housing landscape, Ana contributes to ZEF - Cooperative for Ethical Financing in Croatia.
